The Lamprey Story
1997
The Beginning
Lamprey System's founder, Greg Ahnert, created BevAccess.com which was the first b-to-b exchange in the alcohol beverage industry using e-commerce, database, and web technology.
2000
New Challenges
Using his experience in transforming the beverage industry that lacked technology, Mr. Ahnert recognized the small package audit industry had a similar challenge. Small parcel auditors at the time only served large enterprise shippers with access to EDI based files and they lacked the technology to develop an efficient web based offering serving all size shippers.
2002
From Bottles to Boxes
Mr. Ahnert formed Lamprey Systems creating one of the first full service web based audit solutions in the transportation industry. Mr. Ahnert developed a business model that utilizes a unique audit process allowing Lamprey Systems’ customers the ability to maintain complete control over their billing while also benefiting from efficient monitoring and automated dispute resolution.

Constantly Evolving
In the years since, Lamprey Systems has grown into one of the leading companies in the Small Parcel Audit industry and has expanded its offerings to include a full service Freight Transportation Management System, LampreyTMS.

Joe is responsible for the day to day operations of Lamprey Systems with a focus on continuous improvement. He uses his strong analytical background to work with customers and the internal team to analyze and improve processes. Joe has a B.S. from Millersville and a PhD in Chemistry from Lehigh University.

Since 2008 Lamprey Systems has supported local athletes as title sponsor of Lamprey Systems Cycling Team. Our goal is to support local Bethlehem, PA athletes compete both at the amateur and elite levels throughout the year.
